Al-Ittihad is preparing an offer of 200 million pounds for Liverpool star Mohamed Salah. This was stated in a report published in the British newspaper The Telegraph.
However, the Premier League giants have repeatedly hinted at not letting go of the Egyptian forward. ‘Salah is not for sale,’ Reds boss Jurgen Klopp said after rejecting an attractive £150m bid from the Saudi professional club for the 31-year-old Salah on the final day of the summer transfer window last Friday.
Al-Ittihad have already signed Karim Benzema, Angelo Kante, Diego Zata and Fabinho. Al-Ittihad have been eyeing Salah since the opening of the transfer window.
Since arriving from Liverpool in 2017, Salah has made himself indispensable at Anfield. He has averaged over 20 goals per season in the Premier League for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Last season he scored 30 goals in 51 matches in all competitions. He has had a good start to the new season as well. He has scored two goals in four league matches so far.
Since Liverpool have rejected all offers for Salah since the beginning of the summer, the Reds now want to keep him at any cost. Salah has just one year left on his current contract at Anfield. Al-Ittihad have already hinted that they will continue to try for Salah next summer.
