Bad news for Dani Alves, the Brazilian football star who was arrested in Spain on charges of sexual harassment. The Mexican club Pumas has announced the cancellation of the contract with him.
The club president Leopoldo Silva said in a statement on the day Alvez was arrested. He warned, ‘Any act that goes against the spirit and values of the club will not be accepted by any of the club’s footballers.’
Alvez last played for Pumas on January 8. The club had a contract with the Brazilian until June 2023. Alves made his debut for the club in July last year. Played 13 matches. Assisted 5 goals but did not score any goals.
Alvez was arrested while testifying at the police station following a woman’s complaint. The woman alleged that Alvez sexually assaulted her at a nightclub in Barcelona on December 30.
