Bafuf general secretary (expelled) Abu Naeem Sohag has been banned from football for two years due to allegations of money scam.

Apart from this, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has formed a five-member investigation committee to find out whether the money allocated by the government to BAFFE for football development has been used properly, whether money from one sector has been spent on another sector. The committee started working on Monday under the direction of the High Court.
Yesterday at 3 pm, the members of the committee went to the buffet and asked for various documents. The members, who stayed at the federation for about an hour, also held a meeting with BAUF president Kazi Salauddin. Additional Secretary of Youth and Sports Ministry Nazrul Islam, Secretary of National Sports Council Parimal Singh and other members talked about various issues.
The Ministry’s investigation against Bafuf is mainly about the expenditure of 20 crore rupees. The Ministry of Finance has allocated Tk 20 crore to BAFUF in the financial year 2019-20 for the formation of funds for the long-term development of football. The money was paid by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to the country’s football governing body in two installments. But allegations have been raised that the Bangladesh Football Federation officials did not properly spend the 20 crore rupees received from the government for football development.
That is why this investigation has been ordered by the Ministry of Finance, State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel MP told Samakal on Monday, ‘We will not accept any money from outside. FIFA itself is a very powerful organization, they will look after them themselves. We will not interfere in that matter. We have been instructed by the finance ministry to investigate the Tk 20 crore given to Buffe. To know how that money is being spent, in which sector. We are investigating to find out whether the instructions coming from the Ministry of Finance have been spent or not.
