Airport police in Toronto, Canada, made a press statement yesterday and announced that $14.8 million worth of gold and valuables were stolen from a container at the airport.
Toronto Pearson International Airport Police, Stephen Duivesteyn, said in a statement to the press yesterday that a container that arrived by cargo plane on Monday, April 17, was lifted to the warehouse section and then $14.8 million worth of gold and ‘valuables’ were stolen. “What I can tell you is that the container was a high value shipment. It contained gold, but not just gold and other items of monetary value,” Duivesteyn said in a statement. Authorities said the investigation is continuing.
